We stayed at the Grand Sirenis for 2 weeks from May 25th to June 8th. We travelled with our kids, ages 5&7, and we all loved our vacation. It was great!! Check in was a breeze, it took about 2 minutes, then we were whisked off to our room. We stayed in the 2700 block. I emailed the hotel before we left to request the 1900 building. When we got there I asked if we could get switched to the 1900 building and the gentlemen said we wouldn't be able to get switched until the next day. But once I saw where we were I decided not to. I really liked our location, it was really close to one of the pools, and close to the bridge that leads to the lobby. Our room was great, we had the hole in the wall, but we didn't care. Our kids loved it, they could watch TV from the bath!!! The room was cleaned well everyday. We left the maid a tip, almost everyday, and our room was just as clean as those days that I forgot to leave a tip.

We all enjoyed the food at the hotel. We were at the Sirenis for 2 weeks so we got to enjoy almost all of the ala carte restaurants. My favourite was the steakhouse, I had the filet mignon, it was great!!!! Our least favourite was the Italian. I ordered the tortellini, and I was disappointed. Not because it tasted bad, but disappointed because it wasn't as good as some of the great Italian restaurants here at home. I realize I was in Mexico (not Italy) so I soaked up the beautiful atmosphere, enjoyed the great wait staff and I ate everything on my plate!!! LOL The food at the buffet was super too. I don't know why people would complain, there was sooooo much to choose from. Everything I tried I totally enjoyed. Maybe I just loved all the food because I was so happy that I didn't have to prepare it, cook it and clean up.

The pools were fun, and the lazy river was fun too. Our kids had a blast. We brought our own floats and I'm glad we did. There wasn't too many and sometimes when they were there they were deflated. We also brought our own snorkle gear and we had water shoes for the beach. We didn't really use them though. The beach is coarse, not powdery sand like we have been used to on our vacations but it wasn't that bad. The beach was beautiful. We spent most of our days at the beach, and when we felt like a swim or doing a couple laps around the lazy river it was just a short walk over. When we were at the beach one day an American film crew was filming a Corona commercial, so they closed off a small part of the beach. It was great watching it.

Our kids liked going to the kids club and the mini Disco at night. The staff, Jaine and Ana were great with all the kids. Our kids really liked Jaine and Ana, they were really friendly.

I thought all of the staff at the Sirenis were really friendly. I do not speak any Spanish, other than what I can remember from watching Dora the Explorer, and I did not at any time find that any of us had a problem communicating with the staff. One evening my husband asked for "fizzy" water and the waiter had no idea what he was talking about. So we tried to no avail to explain to him what it was. Unfortunately he didn't understand, but he went to get another waiter to translate for us. I thought that was really nice. We tipped the employees alot, but not every time. I don't feel that I got better or worse service for doing so. It was certainly appreciated by them and I was always thanked.

We always have gone on vacation with the attitude that your vacation is what you make it. Sure there were things that I could complain about, but I don't like to sweat the small stuff. I loved my 2 weeks at the Grand Sirenis, it was an awesome family vacation.
