First to say that our vacation at the Grand Sirenis was such an awesome experience. We stayed in the 1500 block of the the Ixchtel building. I traveled with my husband and our two teenagers, a girlfriend and her teenager. Our Friend had never been out of the country so that was an experience in it self. We needed to be located together for her security-traveling with just her son. The Hotel made sure we were in the same building-with little to no arguments. Our rooms were very clean and spacious. Beds not so great, but we managed to get sleep with the help of lots of great activities and the beach. We had issues with our room, however they were addressed immediately and we were up and running. We arrived around 5:30 Friday Afternoon. It was difficult to book any of the A lacarte restaurants as they had booked up for Saturday and most of Sunday. However, we managed to get the Lobster Gala for Friday night and for Sunday the Steak Restaurant. I woke up eary Saturday to book the rest and got in where we wanted to luckily....
I would recommend the Japenese and Brazilian. The Food for us was good, not great, its hard to match good food when your married to a chef and food critic. We did find that for the most part it was all fresh. They did in fact have the best Guacamole and Pico.. Breakfast for us was the greatest meal of the day. The daily activities in this place were fabulous. Something for everyone to do. The staff at the lower pool were excellent, they had our kids busy all day- with water polo, basketball and all kinds of fun contests. We all managed to win prizes in the activities we participated in. We will miss Roberto, Sebastian, Julie- I think that's her name from England- Awesome lady......Lots of energy.... T
The service was great and the drinks were fabulous. The Mojitos were my favorite... the best . The Beach was beautiful. We only snorkeled one time because the red flag was up most of the vacation. Strong winds and current.
Remember to go to all the shows they were hysterical and the staff worked so hard to make it fun for all. They deserve a pat on the back. My husband and I noticed they worked all day on the activities for all to enjoy and then worked all night at the shows. We were amazed at how much energy they still had after working all day in the sun... Dedication.
I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to have fun and be with your families. What a great Family resort. We will go back next year with about 5 other families.....
